Hengyang Medical College, one of USC’s predecessors, founded the Medical School in 1958. The School of Medicine is staffed with 218, including 42 professors, 72 associate professors in terms of title, 11 doctoral tutors, and 64 postgraduate tutors in terms of mentorship.

The University of South China has 8 directly affiliated hospitals that are distributed in Hengyang and Changsha. All hospitals are Grade III Class A hospitals.
The First Affiliated Hospital of South China University was established in 1943, directly under the Hunan Provincial Department, which integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, and rehabilitation.
